Camas

Camas bloom here in western Oregon. This is on, or near, Baskett Slough Refuge. 

I called the Baskett Slough Refuge management site today; no calls answered, or returned, but I understand they are surely working from home. I called the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and had a very good conversation with a regional manager. She knew about the dead geese situation already, and said there is an investigation that has begun.  One of the scenarios she described was that the birds could have ingested another chemical in another field, then flew to this spot where the reaction took place, and they died. The carcasses were collected, and are being autopsied. More details to come, but there is an investigation.
