1500 water bottles a second
Yep, back to the Burke Museum today on our Monday-pick-up-the-girls day. We just went with Tatum, knowing we'd actually get to read the exhibit for more than 2 minutes. Tatum knew a lot about it as the lunch room helpers at her school had a field trip here and then told everyone what to do with their stuff that could be recycled. So another abstract wall. (1500 disposable plastic water bottles are used every second in the United States. Use reusable bottle with tap water!)~ Another spot noted that it takes 450 years for a plastic bottle to break down. Lots of history about plastics which really came into wide use about WWll. And videos about the dangers of electronics being recycled in foreign countries, (Ghana, India) and what happens to the plastics and the marine life in the oceans.
We picked up Fiona from her school then , with her backpack full of all her birthday presents to play with here before pancakes for dinner. She never stopped talking. We are exhausted. (what's new..)
Earlier I finally got my implant crown (this process took me more than a year...) --expensive, but pretty nifty really. I think that tooth should certainly outlast me! But there will be another later this year too. sigh.
Edit. I just read that Andrew Wyeth's brother has the patent for the plastic bottle for soda!
