A visit to the parents

I made a beautiful banana bread (Nigel Slater’s version) to take to the  parents to compensate for the inedible soda bread that I delivered last week   V and S looked wistful as it went out the door.  Mum and Dad in good spirits.  It’s so warm in their south facing garden - Dad recorded a temperature of of 85F  at the table.  Vik and I went for a long beautiful walk down Five Ways to look for the feral lilac bush that I know is down there but didn’t find it. 4 out of 5 ways searched.... 5 miles done.  I made an orange and pomegranate cake and dal with a wild garlic pesto for supper.
