Visa Day!
Wow, we have the visas, but it wasn't as straight forward as we were hoping (hope springs eternal, even in Nepal!). We had a bit of a moment when we had to get a photocopy of our passports and there was no electricity (que running around the streets of Kathmandu to find a shop with battery power) and then the man at the desk seemed to think that we wouldn't get the 77 days we were asking for as it was too long (even though it is perfectly valid). We wrote down a vaguely realistic itinerary and it seemed to do the trick.
While we were waiting for the passports to be processed we went to Gulf Air to get a new print out of our flight details (the passport office had taken ours) only to discover that Gulf Air have decided to stop flying to (and of course out of) Nepal!
So we had no flight, and this was as of December, and they hadn't got round to telling us! Shiva wept...
They have promised to get us alternate flights with another carrier....
We had a South Indian lunch of dosa and idlis which were lovely and I want to eat more and more :-P
It was a tiring day, but we got our visas, this is fantastic news :-D
