Not so smart

The phone was not holding battery charge as well as in its prime. So I’d ordered a new battery which arrived today.
Followed online instructions. At the point where you pull the screen off, the instructions said “be careful not to let it open too far”. Hmm, it gave way suddenly and now I need a new home button. Only £2 but, in the meantime, I’ve resurrected the old iPhone 3GS. It plays music and can read emails but forget Strava, WhatsApp etc...
