Another one bites the dust

These old white vans are everywhere here. A great favourite with vineyard workers and hunters, they are basic and economical.

This one, however, had been forced off the road at a narrow bridge, hit a tree and plunged some metres into the vineyard. I didn't see the driver, but I hope he got out OK. There are no airbags to save you in these old jalopies.

The same almost happened to me in exactly the same spot a couple of years ago, but I got away with losing my wing mirror to a speeding delivery lorry.
