Tiny leaves?

I'm not quite sure what the tiny leaf-like bits in this photo are, but I rather liked them, so here they are. Today's walk round the block took me up Braid Road and then down Hermitage Gardens. I can tell how high my stress levels are by how annoyed I feel when people don't do social distancing. This afternoon they were quite high, at least in part because of the whole uncertainty there is around lifting the lockdown - I really hope the lifting will be a very cautious one.
