Engineers at work
A few yards into the woods, on our daily trek, we jump this tiny stream.
Someone has been entertaining themselves with a very slow engineering project by adding a small ,extra piece each day to this dam / bridge /ford. Maybe it's a way of marking the passing of the days in this peculiar time.
It grows mysteriously, stone by stone , and today a branch appeared!
I find it fascinating to see how much people like to play and how nice it is to see evidence of simple creativity flowing as we walk through the woods. We passed several other similar endeavours.
It made us smile as it reminded us of all our, family holiday ,engineering projects.
My highlight of today was to read my 14 month grandson, Arthur, a story about a busy spider. I didn't think it would hold his attention as the screens are quite limited but he was engaged until almost the end. We will have a repeat performance tomorrow.
I made quite a few birthday cards this afternoon from the photos I've taken recently, trying to choose images that have meaning for the recipient and adding in some recipes and poems to make them more personalised. With contact being so limited, its a way of showing people that they are thought about.
The walk to the postbox was uncomfortable though as cars are parked up on the pavements so it was impossible to stay 2m+ away from other
pedestrians. I won't be doing that again .
So lucky to live on the very edge of the town , we have all the benefits but are within 10 mins walk of lovely countryside.
