Change in the weather
After weeks of wonderfully fine and warm weather, today was something of a change - quite cool and rain for most of the day. Nevertheless, we went out early this evening for our government approved walk. This time it involved a short (5 minute) drive to another location where we enjoyed a walk round the lake in the rain. It is just good to get out of the house to have some fresh air. We actually heard an aeroplane above us while we were there - the first I have heard for some time (although we have seen the occasional high flying plane over the last few weeks).
Last night, I enjoyed the You Tube broadcast of the 2017 National Theatre production of "Twelfth Night". It is surprising how much of the dialogue I can still remember after studying this play for "O" Level, many decades ago. Making Feste a woman worked well; I was less sure about Malvolio's conversion to Malvolia, but Tamsin Greig is a fine actress and carried it off very well, and her gender and the implications of her love for Olivia were quite fitting in this modern dress production.
It is wonderful that the National Theatre is making these films available during this period when the theatres are closed.
