Brisbane river in flood

Went for a run tonight along one my regular routes, but encountered all kinds of obstacles on account of the floods.

The Brisbane River peaked at around 11am today, and I thought everything would have returned to normal thereafter. This was not the case. First, all of the path next to the river at South Bank Parklands was barricaded off , and then on the QUT side of the river, the cycle/ running path was closed completely.

I decided to take my chances -- as did the guy pictured -- with the water lapping right at the edge of the path. I also had to navigate my way through all the mud, flotsam and jetsam that the floods had brought down the river earlier.
