From hen house to table
Cheddar (for reasons that we have forgotten, a number of our chickens are named after cheeses) sometimes spends the afternoon watching the garden from the comfort of our picnic table.
I hadn't realised how important cockerels are in a flock of chickens. They keep the hens together, point out good spots to scavenge, and even stand guard whilst they take a dust bath.
