Book Exchange!
There has been a constant battle between Team Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds and Team Menacing Black Skies today...and I think we'd have to declare it a draw!! :-P
One of the positives that has come out of this period of lockdown is the appearance of unwanted books, and other bits and bobs, on garden walls. They're usually free to a good home for a new lease of life. Most of them around here have got a sign attached explaining they've been wiped down and some are even packaged in sealed bags. I spotted this lovely phone box acting as a book exchange on my stroll today. What a wonderful idea!
It's Thursday and we will once again all take to our doors to clap our key workers...with an extra special clap, and sing, for Captain, now Colonel, Tom Moore as he celebrates his 100th birthday. We chatted about him at school today, the children, not surprisingly, couldn't comprehend all the changes he'll have seen in his 100 years.
Personally, I think he's an inspirational chap. The story of how one incredibly humble man, aged 100, raised 31 million pounds for the NHS is one we'll never, ever forget. It just goes to prove, not all superheroes wear capes!
