It's lovely to see some of our most loved plants beginning to flower. This is Centaurea montana or 'Amethyst in Snow' which we bought after seeing it blooming on one of our many garden visits in the Cotswolds a couple of years ago.
It's incredible that something that looks so much like cotton wool at this stage will open into such a lovely flower. And it will continue to flower all summer long.
We had a hail storm this afternoon so our planned walk was abandoned. The garden has therefore been my only exercise today. L wanted me to blip the orange cydonia flowers and they are also beautiful however difficult to reach due to their lethal thorns.
