Gowk....

aptly named as it looks manic doesn’t it? It, the Cuckoo is rarely seen only heard, but this one surprised me by sitting on a post then dropping into a quarry where I took lots of shots of it. Think it doesn’t realise it is supposed to be scared of people, as there are so few around at the moment.
The extra shows what I had hoped to see, the pair of Black throated divers, back to breed again. They were much more nervous.
I had taken the car out for its weekly warm up, a few miles. I’m used to driving big mileages so this is weird.
