Waiting patiently
You probably know by now that I enjoy going out for coffee with friends, and today was no exception - this time it was a new friend - so we had lots of talking to do to get to know each other. We both agreed that it is good to chat and that men (generally) don't chat like women do - but I guess most women would say that!
We went to M & S (Marks & Spencer for the uninitiated) and I don't know what it's like in other parts of the country but here in Wiltshire, there is always a long queue and therefore a long wait.
I was glancing at the people in the queue and of course, had my camera to hand just in case a good blip presented itself. Not much of note really, because those in the queue looked pretty fed up but this little lad in his bright green pushchair caught my eye, especially as he was with dad, rather than mum.
Of course, the man at the front of the queue is smiling, but then he would!
Made me think of the verse in Isaiah :
For even young people tire and drop out,
young folk in their prime stumble and fall.
But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles,
They run and don't get tired,
they walk and don't lag behind.
Isaiah 40 : 30-31
The Message
Those who wait in M & S are rewarded with a good cup of coffee - and even a small biscuit!
