It's a Wonder
Lawns aren't so much in favor these days, and much of the time, I agree. Too much watering, so much fussing, but it is really grand to see the spread of perfect green before the rest of the yard. A real pleasure to sit in my low to the ground chair just inches from it all. I guess I should take a picture from that vantage, but it gives me a thrill to see it out the kitchen window and know it's right out there for me.
Someone said the reason the iris fall over as soon as the bloom begins to open is because the whole clump needs to be divided, but it just brings Neil Young to mind for me:
Oh, this old world
Keeps spinning round
It's a wonder tall trees
ain't layin' down
There comes a time.
