Burglars
Going downstairs this morning became aware of the faint sound of an alarm which was much louder once outside with my hearing aids in place. A neighbour's burglar alarm. Mrs P told me it had being going most of the night. I couldn't understand why the occupants hadn't turned it off but I met their boy going to school as I was returning from the paper shop. Some sort of fault, he said, and people were being sent to mend it. It went off about 9:30 but the burglar alarm van appeared in mid-afternoon and checked it worked by setting it off again. They must also have had drain problems as in the afternoon we had a DRAINCO van followed later by two Scottish Water vans.
Much to Mrs P's amusement at lunch-time I had a couple of women vistors (third visit in as many months) but they were more interested in my soul than my body (just as well perhaps as it's not up to much). Judging by their literature I'm pretty sure they're Jehovah's (or YHWH's) Witnesses but they haven't yet said so.
PS: I notice the bottom of the van door says it's a member of team "HAGGIS".
