New Growth on Spruce Tree

The new shoots on the spruce tree were glowing in the late day sun, twinkling like Christmas lights as the branches were ruffled by the wind. 
The park trail was awful today. Since everything else is closed and the weather is nice, everyone went to the park. There was trash all over the place, and people were not social distancing. When I got almost half way around the lake, I had to turn back because there was a young woman sitting in the middle of the path with a crowd around her. She was tripping out, screaming something about dogs, and the man with her was holding an almost empty vodka bottle. Someone had already called for an ambulance, which arrived along with the police, as I was getting back to the parking lot. This park is normally a lovely place to walk and attracts runners, fishermen and young families. I hope that it can get back to normal soon.
