In it’s heyday, in the 1850’s, The Black Eagle Brewery on Brick Lane, was the world’s largest.
It was indeed eerie in Brick Lane this time last Sunday. No market traders, no bustle, no rubbish...only local Ramadan shoppers eagerly planning their sundown suppers.
