Large white

These eggs were first noticed on April 28th, which seems very early for the spring brood of Large White Cabbage Butterfly, which normally lay in June / July. They are on the upper surface of a red cabbage leaf where I hope to observe them until they hatch and then hopefully prevent them from carrying out destruction of the leaf. The eggs are about the size of a pin head, the entire cluster was less than 1 cm at its widest point. Mesh netting will be across the tunnel entrances to prevent more white butterflies and to stop birds picking at the strawberries which should ripen soon.
