03052020 51st Corona isolation day w/ alleviation

This picture is from my morning walk. I went to check out what was the situation regarding the beach. This about as close as I got. Well, I was closer to the barricades the police had made, but it's not a smart idea to take pictures of them.

So the beach closest to us belongs to Elche. So it's off limits now. And the police made sure we knew that.

My husband went cycling and he was asked for documentation in Santa Pola (which he had and was told to continue). He took the shore road back to our side (Gran Alacant). He came across to this same police barricade. There was another cyclist right in front of him. First the police told them that the road is cut, but the other guy said that he lives right over there, so they let them through. The road from City of Santa Pola to Gran Alacant (belonging to SP) is part of Elche the last 1,5km or so. But the other side of the road (not beach side) is Santa Pola. So the police has closed that little part of the road for no reason really, They could have just closed the road that continues to Elche. In that short part there are no houses, no nothing. Just a dirt parking areas for the beach goers.

So at least a week we don't have access to the beach. In Santa Pola you can at least go walk on the beach. But since you can't drive anywhere to do sports, Santa Pola beach is about 6km away and I'd have to cross the monte, so it's just too far. Have to wait. Even if the water looks so inviting...
