Private pond!

As the forecast was for better weather today we decided to go for our walk today & leave the jobs for tomorrow!

After doing my brother's washing & Hubby returning it .....we got ready & headed up the road.

We wore our macs as there were a few grey clouds about ..... but they soon disappeared .... the sun came out in a beautiful blue sky!

We spotted this pair of Mallard who had found themselves their own private little pond in the middle of a sea of mud ...... actually a puddle on the building site! They seemed very content snoozing in it ..... all they needed was a des res to go with it!

Thought it would make a good one for Silly Saturday ..... thanks to Admirer for hosting :-)

To begin with our walk was very quiet .... very little activity from the birds ...... but as the sun warmed thing up they soon found their voices!

We saw & heard Whitethroat, Chiffchaff, Robin, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Great & Blue Tits, Greenfinch, Dunnock, Swallow & House Martin ..... not bad at all!

There were also several butterflies fluttering around ...... mainly Small White & plenty of bees buzzing about too :-)

As we were walking back there were lots of people heading to the wood & there was music blaring out .... we assume that there was a party going on ..... where are the police when you need them to turn up?!

Thankfully we had finished our walk by then .... so it wasn't a problem for us ...... pleased we went when we did!
