North Leith Burial Ground
First day of furlough. I did very little today. Went to the supermarket in the morning, did a bit of tidying and then went for my daily walk in the afternoon. I walked along part of the Water of Leith and then back past North Leith burial ground. I decided to go in and explore. It's a small burial ground that was first opened in the 17th century, so there are some really interesting grave stones. It overlooks the Water of Leith and is surrounded by modern developments - a real juxtaposition of old and new. Very Leith! The burial ground proved to be quite a peaceful place and it was good to explore another wee corner of Leith.
