Sunrises/sunsets, like full moons are better and more interesting when there's something on the horizon in front of it.

My new D7000, back then, gave me 450mm with the 70-300mm, to which I added a Sigma Apo 1.4x conv, to get 560mm.

Nice shot rather than spectacular but watching a sunrise through a long lens is always very satisfying.
