Bunting at the ready

Tomorrow is VE Day and on Saturday it is 75 years since Guernsey was liberated from occupying German forces. An enormous celebration was planned, street parties, a cavalcade through town, church services and fireworks. And now? Nothing. Well that’s not technically true, lots of things are happening but on a much smaller scale. Lots of houses have been decorated with Guernsey bunting and Union Jack flags. Everywhere looks great. Let’s hope for a 75 plus one celebration next year!
