2020 Wednesday — Anniversary Month

Episode #2 for Anniversary Month:

Currently we are reading together Nicholas Sparks’ book “The Wedding.” Mr. Fun reads it out loud to me. We’ve just completed Chapter Fifteen. The lead character is Wilson (the husband), his wife is Jane. The set-up for the excerpt that’s here is she comes home to an empty house after a day of shopping with her daughter who is getting married on Saturday.

The night before, Wilson had asked Jane if he could take her on a surprise date the next evening — she will know none of the details. She says “yes.”

(Here’s the excerpt) She is reading a note he has left for her ... ”Sweetheart, this evening is for you. Yet there is a role you must play to fulfill it. Think of this as a game: I’m going to give you a list of instructions, and your role is to do as I ask. ...The first task is simple: Please blow out the candles downstairs, and follow the rose petals to the bedroom. Further instructions will await you there.” ... remember Wilson is not home, so don’t think “bedroom thoughts.”

Well, I doubt that Mr.Fun & I will have a surprise date during this (Covid) month of May, but we are celebrating daily, if not moment by moment, the 55 years of living that this May 29th Anniversary represents.
