Two's!

Spotted this as I popped in the Spa shop on the way home from Oscars playdate. I liked the couple sitting in the little square behind the bicycle made for 2!
Later in the evening I was on the phone and Oscar was pawing madly at a pot. It was a big clay pot inside of which was a skimmia in it's plastic pot. As plants come into flower I use this large pot to display them in.I dragged Oscar inside and later when I'd finished the phone call went out to investigate. On lifting the skimmia out what did I find - 2 little mice! The pot is under the bird feeder so seeds were inside and in the base. I'm not sure if the mice were living inside this larder or had got stuck there- It's a very tall pot! I laid the pot on it's side and off they ran! I do love having mice in the garden - such sweet creatures and definitly preferable to rats! I never have rats and mice at the same time! I had put down rat bait last week and it had all gone - maybe I killed the rats! I certainly won't be putting any more down! I'm guessing it was these two mice who ate my squash seeds! All is forgiven!
