Moonlight on Roofs

This is hanging out of our attic skylight sometime after midnight, standing on the mattress, which Mike was asleep on. At first I wanted to get the moon, but then, was more thrilled with its light on the roof tiles, so clambered down and got a wider angle lens.

Yesterday, I started looking to see if Brittany ferries were accepting bookings, and by the time I got back on the computer to book, the first sailings, beginning 16th May, were sold out. So I've booked passage on the Pont-Aven, from Portsmouth to Santander, for the 26th. Would have been quite something to have been on the last one out, and the first one back, but really, quite glad to have those extra days. Hoping we can see Julia and Tom before we leave, if restrictions ease a bit. It will be a wrench to go; need to concentrate on the gift we were given of these extra weeks with (some of) our family. Brittany Ferries aren't promising they will sail, it all depends on what the government decides, but if they're taking bookings...

Gratefuls:
- another day of homeschooling; we learnt to identify Lombardy poplars and mountain ash/rowan
- lunch in the garden again; Sam made delicious egg and sausage muffins
- that we've got this far without getting the virus... well, we've all had various of the symptoms, but nothing serious; if only we could get tested...
