Lockdown DIY task finally achieved - I have pimped my staircase!  Removed old beige carpet, sanded those stoopid little stripes of paint they put on the edges of stairs in the 1960s. varnished the treads, and created a brick effect riser with the aid of sticky back plastic and the elastic from Val's knickers...
I'm well pleased with my efforts!
