Shenzhen: Chinese New Year celebration

It is done! Our school's Chinese New Year celebration went well this morning (yes, 3rd and 4th Grade drummers were LOUD and very cool). This was the stylized 'fu' (lucky) Chinese character plastered across the backing of the purpose-built tiered seating, which helped transform the gym into a different kind of arena for the show. As it's (almost) the Year of the Snake they've snuck one in there. Bye Bye Year of the Dragon.

Rest assured you haven't missed actual Chinese New Year. The lunar new year kicks off on February 10. If you have Chinese anywhere near you, you'll know the night before!
