The Jubilee Clock in Otley is illuminated in NHS blue, although the Town Council is at pains to confirm that all key workers are represented.

Seventy-five years ago today the war in Europe came to an end. Street parties were held and there was general jubilation that the Fascists and the National Socialists and their fellow travellers had been crushed.

Two generations on, and in the face of an enemy more merciless than the Axis, surely we must forgive our former adversaries (who are suffering as much as, if not worse, than we are) and join in the global effort to defeat this new threat to humankind.
