VE Day 75

Annie spent the morning making bunting. We have a whole set of Tesco single use carrier bags that were destined for recycling but as they were red, white and blue, instead got upcycled to some fine looking bunting. We tweeted Tesco with a picture and they agreed it was a good repurposing of their bags!

At 4pm our cul-de-sac gathered for a socially distanced street party. With lots of space between us, each house brought their own chairs, drinks and food for what was meant to be an afternoon tea. We all got chatting and have just scraped in at 11.30pm having felt guilty about being a bit noisy.  

A lovely, safe community way to celebrate VE day and 75 years of peace in Europe.
