Hobbs's Run

Seiko SKX007

This legendary Seiko time piece is a certified ISO 6425 dive watch which means it has individually been pressure tested for 200 metres of water resistance. It is intended to be able to time diving sessions and be clearly read under dark submerged conditions. It isn't anything fancy aside from  all that … just a rugged mechanical tool. Personally I find no-nonsense, designed-for-function styling to be highly appealing, which is why I own one of these.

This model came out in the 1990s, was a current offering until only a few months ago and carried the banner for a long line of outstanding, affordable, accessory time pieces, bearing the famous Japanese maker's label.

Oh heck. I don't dive under the ocean, clearing mines and researching marine life. I do such things in my day dreams. But it is still fun to wear the SKX and watches of this type are pretty popular right now. Anyway, what's wrong with one or two harmless affectations? Well … three or four maybe.
