Lockdown Birthday Girl

Nelly is 11! How did that happen?
She seemed pleased with her gifts, although her Harry Potter Vans didn’t fit. She loved watching the video Betty had put together for her with friends and family doing Tik Tok dances and she also did the 2020 ice bucket challenge.
Her wee pal cycled down with her Mum to drop off a gift, my cousin and family drove past to sing a socially distanced Happy Birthday to her.
She finished off making party bags for her friends and went out with Floss to deliver them and Betty made her a birthday Swiss roll type cake- our attempt to do a rainbow coloured one was an epic fail, adding the colouring knocked all the air out of the sponge. It was ready for her birthday Zoom so her wee pals could sing to her though.
Nelly’s birthday tea of choice was fajitas before we had family Facetime. We all sang Happy Birthday again and then had a couple of games of bingo, hampered somewhat by Nelly calling the numbers. But we managed!
Virtual cinema next- we downloaded Onward which I would highly recommend even if in true Disney Pixar style we were all greeting at the end.
So my lovely not so wee anymore girl had a day filled with her favourite things and people even if she couldn’t see them in person. I think she felt their love.
