Early Bird

...gets the Sora!

Is this little water bird stunning?  It belongs to the rail family so is characteristically very shy and hides very well in the reeds. How lucky to see it in a little stretch of water feeding!!  I knew there were Sora around, but I had not seen one....till now!

And now....it is snowing.  How crazy is that?  Woke up to beautiful sunshine and now that I am back home, warm, and looking through my photos....it has clouded over and the snow flurries have started.  Just crazy....

If I was able to go to my favourite woods, I would venture back out in the snow. Drat.
