Male Great Spotted Woodpecker

My neighbour phoned this afternoon to say that the woodpeckers were feeding their young and invited me to go and see them. We kept our social distance and went into the woods behind her house and waited very quietly. Eventually the female came with a beak full of insects and went into the hole in the tree, then a few minutes later the male came but stayed on a nearby tree as he knew we were there. We took a few quick shots and left them in peace. I was really excited to see them though!
