Endurance is a Virtue
This is a view through the railings of the George Square Gardens which are locked because the students are absent. They are an oasis of peace, surrounded as they are by university buildings and also home to an interesting labyrinth.
Once upon a time before the university took over the square, the gardens were the play area for the girls at George Watson’s Ladies’ College which inhabited the building now used by the Psychology department.
Recently, during the summer vacations the university has allowed the infamous Underbelly to ruin them with their annual Jazz festival and Fringe events; but not this year - no Jazz Festival, no Fringe.
And so another day has slipped seamlessly by with nothing much to show for it.
