Large Red

I've seen a few of these Large Red damselflies in the garden over the past week and finally managed to photograph one. Its been another good day for butterflies as well with two more species - Common Blue and Grizzled Skipper - added to the season's list, making it 15 species so far. 

On the afternoon walk I almost stepped on an adder which was basking right next to the path. The spaniel had walked past without noticing it; he is usually very wary of snakes.
