VE Day 75 Years On.

This Pandemic Could Be A Cause For Change
An Article by Joan Bakewell in which she sees hope for the future and which says far more than I could.

The extra shows our TV at 11:02 with Camilla standing in front of the memorial near the gates to Balmoral. In a normal year I would travel along this stretch of road at least six times. I would turn left before the lodge and head along the south bank of the River Dee to Aboyne.

Today S came to give us support, whilst observing the protocol such meetings must obey.

We had packed Pat’s Portrait of "Aunt Betty" to be posted to her son Aaron in Chicago. A second package of baby clothes had been packed to go to friends in Poland. We had planned to print  a label with the correct postage using the Royal Mail App. However, the App will only print off labels for destinations within the U.K.

S gives support to friends and family and runs "errands" most days. She agreed to post the packages for us, and also mentioned that she was going to Paradise Foods to pick up various items and spices. Would Pat like S to get some shopping from Paradise?

Paradise specialises in Asian foods, and our stock of staples were at critical levels.

S duly arrived and we placed the packages etc at the boundary line while S stood well back. She then came and picked up everything before standing back so that there was 5 metres between us.

We then chatted about many things. S finished by saying that the one thing she is missing is "The Hugs". Many of us are missing "The Hugs".

It is too cold for lunch out today. The main Blipfoto shows cloudy skies.

I spend the rest of the afternoon organising the studio and looking for various artefacts. Recently, I have been receiving requests from various heritage groups asking if we can gift some of our artefacts for their collections.

Motor Sport items are the main items so far and I will be happy to do that.

Also being requested are drawings and models of our architecture work and the various awards we have received over the years. That may be possible after discussions with the  clients concerned. Most guard their privacy very carefully.

We then watched Toy Story 2 and 3 in the evening and enjoyed the "magic and love" in what are pure illusions conjured up by technology.
