Abandoned Nest

No, a cuckoo hasn't been visiting! I knew I would find a reason for keeping this plastic egg which came from an Easter decoration in church last year. Thank you to HoneycombBeach for suggesting I should tag this for Silly Saturday

The nest had been built by a blackbird in our unruly and matted clematis earlier this year. However it was abandoned and never did get any eggs laid in it. Today I decided it was time to tackle the clematis and cut it right back so out came the nest. The clematis is the type which needs to be pruned as soon after it has flowered as possible.
