Clematis

Not much to report today.  It feels a bit like the morning after the night before.  The flowers in my garden are opening while you watch in this glorious sunshine.   Most of the clematis are now open.  This one has flowers about 6 inches across.

I mowed the grass at the entrance to the house today as we don't want the place to look abandoned.  But MrHCB read somewhere that it's really important not to mow lawns during May for the sake of the bees that thrive on the tiny flowers in the grass.  So the lawn near the house looks like a weedy hay meadow, and will be murder to mow once I am given permission!  I'm sure the bees are loving it.
