Thought you said dad was coming home?

Horrible day today! Very windy and very rainy!
The other half, K was working outside mending guttering that had been blown from a house and was in danger of damaging their roof.
He rang me at lunchtime to say he had nearly finished but wasnt sure if he could get it done because of the wind, and may have to go back tomorrow, so he might be home early.
With that i told Sprout 'watch for daddy, he's coming home soon'
Up he jumped onto the windowsill and waited.......
After 2 hours he let out a big moan, tired of waiting ( k must have decided to carry on) and sprout gave me such a look! As if to say...
I thought you said dad was coming home...
