Phoenix Preserve

I arrived at around 6 a.m. The light out was beautiful. On the way there the freeway was empty so I pulled over and took a photo of Piestewa Peak. You can see it in the extra. Getting to the desert was wonderful. I needed the beauty, I needed to be soothed. It did start to rain before I got back to the car and the smell of the rain hitting the dry, desert earth was heaven scent. I needed that too. I sat in the car for a bit just listening to the rain with the windows rolled down. I needed all of it. I thought a lot about my strong, beautiful mom. She was very connected to the earth, she left it 41 years ago. It seems like a lifetime.
