My Mundane Life

A Grandfathers Legacy

One of the few perks of isolation has been finding the time to enjoy my creative outlets more. I’ve gotten back into watercolour painting, fine-line drawing, scrapbooking and music. One instrument in particular I’ve found myself going back to is the bass.

This bass guitar was my grandads and a few years after he died, my grandma gave me it as a birthday present on the condition I’d learn how to play it properly. As a young teen, this condition flew out the window after a few months and I played it only on rare occasions. Now I’m a little older and have an unbelievable amount of time on my hands, I like to learn a new bass riff every few days, starting with some of the most iconic. It’s been great fun and I even put on one mini concert for the siblings though they all laughed as before I even started playing they knew I’d go to the bass solo from ‘The Chain’ and the introduction to ‘Seven Nation Army’.
