Conflict

The farmer puts a barrier across the footpath that never usually has one (absolutely no stock or farming at any point along this lonning or at either end ... it just goes to the river). All the National Park signs currently have these covid signs up and the place isn’t in a position to cope with visitors.

After my usual trepidation of the week ahead the day settled down and I came out for a walk this evening. I spoke to a couple I met on the path and as we chatted a deer happily wandered up to the other side of the fence to join us, timid but unperturbed and curious, a youngster perhaps or just sensing something different about the human world.
