Into The Unknown

Big Ears

We have been to London today. After delivering some pots to Contemporary Ceramics we met up with son Ben and had a yummy Thai lunch near the British Museum. Then we all spent a few hours up in the Ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman galleries. What a fantastic museum. When I was at college in London I often used to visit the Museum and today I found all my favourite pieces from many years ago. So good to see that they hadn't been relegated to the store rooms.
This little pot was a complete surprise and made me smile. It is Roman and probably made in the Bay of Naples 1st Century AD.
Face vases were popular in Campania and may have been souvenirs or childrens gifts.
What a grin!
We are now home and Kate has cooked us beans chips and fried eggs . A perfect end to a great day
