Winter proper
The snow's gone. It has been nice to see the snow sitting over everything, making it all look pretty; an almost idyllic vision of what winter should be like. Such romanticising, however, is a dangerous fantasy. Proper winter in Scotland is a strong wind blowing icy cold rain horizontally into your face for two or three months.
Such was the scene on my drive to work today. While queuing at traffic lights I snapped this student battling with the forces of nature - just like the trees behind her.
