New Place - New Plants

The Talyllyn hostel is an old bungalow that was for a long time a private dwelling, accessed through the station yard.  The previous owner, who lived there for several decades, was a keen plantsman and gardener, who grew some unusual plants, shrubs and trees.   These days the part of the garden that was not sold off is home to the Llechfan Garden Railway, an impressive affair with a number of keen participants in happier times.  A few of the plants from the past have survived the many years of neglect, including this Libertia grandiflora, a member of the iris family, native to New Zealand.   It's not something I have ever grown, a new possibility for the new garden.

I was up at the hostel for laundry purposes.  Otherwise it's been a day of new home related admin and cleaning.  Progress on the electricity front too, we should have power tomorrow.  Hooray!
