Book Bonus
One of the many things I love about Blipfoto is not, strictly speaking, related to photography -- it's the book recommendations that people make.
Some months ago, Glass Road suggested a book she thought I'd enjoy -- Sara Midda's South of France: A Sketchbook (1990, Workman Publishing, New York). I ordered a used copy, took a quick look at it and knew she was right, and then tucked it into the guest room bookshelf, thinking I'd get back to it.
Many books later, having just about sorted out the guest room after our several months' stay there while house projects were underway, I have. It's a little* treasure, full of wonderful watercolor images and Sara Midda's notes -- take a peek at these olives and these wonderful houses and balconies!
This book brings back happy memories of my visits to that part of France, and reinforces the lovely images I see on the journals of chaiselongue, 5000vines, and GlassRoad's sister, BrodieB, all of whom I've met, and Veronica, whom I hope to meet if we make another visit to that area. It would be perfect if GlassRoad could be there at the same time, so I can thank her in person!
