False Promises

Today's peace was disturbed for six hours by a large helicopter spraying forestry land to the north. The area will be planted in pinus radiata this winter. Just over two years ago the aftermath of Cyclone Gita caused massive damage when slash and trees from the harvest of a previous crop of pines were dumped on my neighbours' property and mine. The forestry company involved took responsibility and spent many weeks removing tonnes of logs, sand and rubbish from in and around the creek. We were told the land would not be replanted in pines ......
